President Murmu Holds Bilateral Talks with Romanian President, Discusses Trade and Investment
New Delhi, July 24 -- President Droupadi Murmu reached Bucharest on July 23, 2026, during the final leg of her State Visit to Moldova, North Macedonia and Romania. She held a bilateral meeting and delegation-level talks with Romanian President Nicusor Dan at Cotroceni Palace.
The two leaders discussed strengthening cooperation in trade, investment, resilient supply chains and business-to-business engagement. They also agreed to work towards doubling bilateral trade between India and Romania over the next three years.
President Murmu said Romania is an important partner for India within the European Union and that the India-EU Free Trade Agreement would create opportunities for industries and skilled professionals in both countries.
