New Delhi, April 23 -- India remains a tough nut to crack in trade negotiations, US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said, as a visiting Indian delegation concluded discussions with US officials on a proposed bilateral trade agreement.

A 12-member Indian delegation, led by Darpan Jain, Additional Secretary, Department of Commerce, held detailed discussions with the US team headed by Brendan Lynch.

The three-day negotiations, which focused on finalising key provisions of the agreement, ended on Wednesday.

Speaking before the United States Congress Committee on Ways and Means, on Wednesday, Greer noted that India has long protected its agricultural market, PTI reported.
