New Delhi, March 18 -- India and the United States have announced framework for an interim trade deal aimed at enhancing bilateral trade and improving market access for key sectors, the government informed the Lok Sabha.
Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada said the government is closely monitoring developments and remains engaged with the US on trade-related issues.
The two countries announced the agreement on February 2, 2026, followed by a joint statement on February 7. On the same day, the US removed the 25 percent additional tariffs imposed on certain Indian exports linked to Indias imports of Russian oil.
