India's Non-Fossil Power Capacity Crosses 300 GW, Reaches 60% Of 2030 Target
New Delhi, Aug. 10 -- India has crossed 300 GW of installed non-fossil fuel-based electricity generation capacity, achieving 60 percent of its 500 GW target set for 2030, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) said.
As of July 31, 2026, India's non-fossil fuel capacity stood at 300.50 GW, comprising 164.59 GW of solar, 58.14 GW of wind, 57.24 GW of hydropower, 11.75 GW of bio-power and 8.78 GW of nuclear power.
Non-fossil fuel sources now account for more than 54 percent of India's total installed power generation capacity of around 552 GW, reported PTI.
