New Delhi, March 20 -- Indias bioeconomy has expanded sharply from about USD 10 billion in 2014 to over USD 195 billion in 2025, marking a major growth trajectory and positioning the country as a global biotechnology hub, Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh said on Thursday.

Addressing the 14th Foundation Day of Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) in New Delhi, the minister noted that the sector recorded an annual growth of around 17-18 percent in the past year, rising from nearly USD 165 billion to USD 195 billion.
