India Achieves 22.6 MTPA Coal Gasification Capacity, Targets 100 MT by 2030: MoS
New Delhi, July 28 -- India has developed 22.6 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of coal gasification capacity that is either operational or under implementation, as part of the National Coal Gasification Mission, which aims to achieve 100 million tonnes (MT) of coal gasification capacity by 2030, the government informed Parliament.
The information was provided by Union Minister of State for Coal and Mines Satish Chandra Dubey in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha.
The Minister said the existing capacity comprises 8 MTPA at Jindal Steel Limited (JSL), 2.6 MTPA at Talcher Fertilisers Limited (TFL), and around 12 MTPA across eight projects approved under the Rs 8,500 crore Scheme for Promotion of Coal/Lignite Gasification.
