New Delhi, Sept. 15 -- India's tourism industry needs stronger policy support, sustained global marketing and improved connectivity to double its contribution to the economy to 10 per cent from around 5 per cent, the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) said at its annual convention.

The association said inbound tourism could become a stronger source of foreign exchange earnings, employment and MSME growth if India shifts from fragmented promotional campaigns to a sustained global marketing strategy.
