Gandhinagar, April 14 -- Gujarat has emerged as one of the top five states in India in the deployment of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), reflecting growing momentum in the countrys clean energy transition and grid modernisation efforts.
According to data presented by the Ministry of Power, Gujarat currently has an installed BESS capacity of about 77 MWh, placing it fifth nationally after Bihar, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, reported The Times Of India.
Driven by Energy Security and Renewable Integration
The states progress is being driven by increasing concerns around energy security, volatility in conventional fuel markets, and the need to integrate renewable energy into the grid more efficiently.
