New Delhi, May 29 -- Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal held a series of business and investment meetings with senior global industry leaders in New York on May 28 during his transit visit to the United States.

The discussions mostly focused on strengthening India-U.S. trade and investment ties and expanding cooperation in emerging sectors.

During the visit, Goyal held one-on-one meetings with Harvey Schwartz, Chief Executive Officer of Carlyle Group; Ted Pick, Chairman and CEO of Morgan Stanley; Charles Kaye, Chairman of Warburg Pincus; Chintu Patel of Amneal Pharmaceuticals; and Michael Miebach, Chief Executive Officer of Mastercard.
