New Delhi, May 18 -- A specialised footwear testing laboratory has been established at the National Test House in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, aimed at strengthening quality infrastructure for one of India's most labour-intensive manufacturing sectors, according to a Ministry of Consumer Affairs press release.

The facility offers comprehensive testing across multiple footwear categories in accordance with relevant Indian Standards, and is strategically located near major footwear manufacturing clusters to ensure faster turnaround times and cost-effective access for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), exporters, manufacturers, and regulatory agencies
