E-Commerce Rules 2026: Govt Tightens Consumer Protection, Mandates NCH Integration From Jan 2027
New Delhi, Sept. 11 -- The Department of Consumer Affairs has amended the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, through the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) (Amendment) Rules, 2026, introducing new requirements aimed at strengthening consumer protection and improving transparency in the digital marketplace.
The amendments seek to address emerging consumer concerns while maintaining a balance between consumer protection and Ease of Doing Business for e-commerce entities.
The Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) (Amendment) Rules, 2026 will come into force from January 1, 2027.
