New Delhi, July 23 -- The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) has amended rooftop solar regulations to simplify procedures, reduce paperwork and speed up installations, officials said on Wednesday.

Streamlined Application Process

Under the revised DERC (Net Metering for Renewable Energy) Regulations, 2014, the earlier three-stage process-feasibility analysis, registration and connection agreement-has been replaced with a two-step system.

The new process combines document verification, inspection and net meter installation into a single stage following technical feasibility assessment. Registration fees have also been removed, PTI reported.
