New Delhi, April 23 -- The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) has proposed a key amendment to expand access to green energy open access in the National Capital Territory, aiming to make renewable power procurement more inclusive.
Shift from voltage-based to load-based eligibility
Under the existing Green Energy Open Access Regulations, 2024, only consumers connected at 11 kV and above, with a minimum contracted demand of 100 kW, were eligible to procure renewable energy through open access.
The proposed amendment seeks to remove this voltage-based restriction, allowing consumers connected below 11 kV to participate, provided they meet the load requirement.
