New Delhi, Aug. 31 -- The Delhi government plans to develop an approximately 61-kilometre corridor along the Najafgarh drain to reduce traffic congestion and improve connectivity across the city, officials said.

The Public Works Department (PWD) is preparing to appoint a private consultant to conduct a feasibility study and prepare a detailed project plan. The project was first announced by the government in February.

"The stretch is heavily congested due to a mix of slow-moving vehicles and cross movements during peak and non-peak hours, causing heavy traffic. We plan to hire a consultant to conduct a feasibility study before the project starts," a PWD official said, as reported by PTI.
