New Delhi, Sept. 1 -- Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant has constituted a committee to examine issues faced by advocates in their day-to-day dealings with the Supreme Court Registry, following a request from the Supreme Court Advocates-on-Record Association (SCAORA).

The committee, headed by Supreme Court Secretary General Bharat Parashar, will examine concerns related to filing, scrutiny, defect marking and curing, listing and other procedural matters.

The move follows a letter dated August 25 from SCAORA President Devvrat to the CJI, seeking an institutional mechanism to address difficulties faced by advocates in their interaction with the Registry.
