New Delhi, Aug. 3 -- The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has proposed waiving transmission charges for clean energy projects delayed due to the unavailability of transmission infrastructure, according to draft regulations.

CERC Proposes Transmission Charge Waiver For Delayed Projects

The proposed relief is aimed at solar, wind and hybrid renewable energy projects that have missed their scheduled commissioning timelines because of delays in transmission connectivity.

Under the draft proposal, projects would be eligible for the waiver if they have entered into power sale contracts with a minimum tenure of seven years by December 31, 2026, reported Reuters.
