CBN and PHARMEXCIL Sign MoU to Strengthen Pharma Export Facilitation & Regulatory Oversight
New Delhi, Aug. 25 -- The Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) and the Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (PHARMEXCIL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to facilitate legitimate pharmaceutical exports while strengthening regulatory oversight and preventing the diversion of controlled substances.
The MoU was signed at the CBN headquarters in Gwalior between Dr Dinesh Bisen, Narcotics Commissioner, and Raja Bhanu, Director General of PHARMEXCIL.
Under the agreement, CBN and PHARMEXCIL will develop a Voluntary Code of Conduct (VCC) for pharmaceutical exporters.
The code will remain voluntary and non-binding and will not create additional statutory or financial obligations beyond existing laws.
