Patna, April 24 -- The Bihar government has introduced the draft Green Hydrogen Policy 2026, outlining an ambitious roadmap to position the state as a key hub for clean fuel production while contributing to Indias net-zero target by 2070.

The policy aims to build a robust ecosystem for the production and utilisation of green hydrogen and green ammonia, clean fuels generated using renewable energy sources such as solar, wind and biomass.

Capacity and investment targets

Under the proposed framework, the state plans to achieve an annual production capacity of 1 lakh tonnes of green hydrogen or green ammonia by 2031.
