Bank Credit Growth Outpaces NBFCs In July 2026 As Outstanding Bank Credit Stands 3.7 Times Higher: BoB Report
New Delhi, Sept. 10 -- Outstanding bank credit was 3.7 times that of non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) in July 2026, with bank lending growing at a faster pace, according to a report by Bank of Baroda (BoB).
NBFCs accounted for 21.3 per cent of total credit across banks and non-bank lenders, marginally higher than 21.2 per cent in June, ANI reported.
Banks had a more diversified lending portfolio, with retail loans accounting for 32.5 per cent, followed by services at 28.1 per cent and industry at 21.7 per cent. NBFC lending was more concentrated in retail, which accounted for 43.5 per cent of their total credit, the report noted.
