Itanagar, July 15 -- Arunachal Pradesh has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Norway-based clean energy company Tidal Sails AS to establish India's first river kinetic energy demonstration plant, marking a significant step towards expanding renewable energy solutions.

MoU Signed For 500 kW Demonstration Project

The agreement, signed between the state's Centre for Earth Sciences and Himalayan Studies and Tidal Sails AS under the India-Norway Green Partnership.

It will facilitate the implementation of a 500 kW demonstration project that generates electricity directly from river currents without requiring major civil infrastructure.
