New Delhi, May 12 -- Close on the heels of rolling out India's first Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) tolling system at the Chorayasi Toll Plaza on the Surat-Bharuch section of NH-48 in Gujarat, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has launched another barrier-less tolling system on the Mundka-Bakkarwala section of Urban Extension Road-II in the National Capital Region.
The MLFF system introduces a contactless and barrier-free toll collection mechanism that enables vehicles to pass through toll plazas without stopping. The system combines Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology with FASTag-based electronic toll collection for automated user fee collection.
