New Delhi, June 22 -- The Aadhaar App has crossed 31 million downloads within five months of its launch, according to the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

UIDAI in a press release said that nearly 4 million users have updated their mobile numbers through the app, while around 850,000 users have used it to update their addresses.

The app enables Aadhaar holders to access a range of services digitally, including mobile number and address updates, e-Aadhaar downloads, online appointment booking for Aadhaar Seva Kendras and Aadhaar authentication history.

Other features include biometric lock and unlock functionality, face authentication for identity verification and QR code-based sharing of identity information.
