Afghanistan, March 26 -- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said Washington has asked Kyiv to hand over the entire Donbas region to Russia in exchange for security guarantees and a possible peace deal.
Speaking to Reuters on Wednesday, Zelenskiy said the United States appears to be pushing harder for a quick end to the four-year war as Washington's attention shifts toward the conflict involving Iran.
He said any peace settlement must include firm international guarantees, warning that without them, Ukraine could face renewed Russian aggression in the future.
Zelenskiy added that key questions remain unanswered, including who would finance Ukraine's future arms needs and how allies would respond if Russia attacked again.
