Afghanistan, Aug. 21 -- A 35-year-old New York woman has been arrested for allegedly plotting an ISIS-inspired bomb attack on the New York State Capitol, with U.S. authorities accusing her of planning to kill government officials and destroy parts of the state legislature building.
The U.S. Department of Justice announced on Thursday that Jessica Bowie, 35, of Albany, New York, was taken into custody after allegedly attempting to obtain what she believed was an explosive device as part of a planned attack on the New York State Capitol. U.S. prosecutors say she was inspired by the Islamic State (ISIS) and intended to carry out a mass-casualty attack.
