Afghanistan, Oct. 8 -- Veteran Indian actor and filmmaker Nana Patekar died at the age of 75 on Thursday after suffering a cardiac arrest at his residence in Goa, according to Indian media reports.

Patekar was found unconscious at his residence in Dona Paula, near Panaji, and was taken to Manipal Hospital. Doctors attempted to revive him with continuous cardiopulmonary resuscitation for about 45 minutes, but he could not be revived. He was declared dead at 5:20 a.m., according to Dr. Shekhar Salkar of Manipal Hospital. A medico-legal case has been registered and a post-mortem examination is expected.

His son, Malhar Patekar, who was in Pune, travelled to Goa following his father's death, according to Indian media reports.
