Afghanistan, June 26 -- Venezuela's interim government said on Friday that the death toll from this week's devastating earthquakes had risen to 589, while nearly 3,000 people were injured, as rescue teams continued searching collapsed buildings for survivors.
Interim President Delcy Rodriguez said 2,980 people had been injured in the twin earthquakes and warned that the number of fatalities could continue to rise as emergency crews reached more destroyed areas.
