Afghanistan, March 31 -- Thousands of elite US Army troops have entered the Middle East, signaling a deeper American military buildup as Washington balances war planning with diplomatic efforts over Iran.
Reuters has reported that thousands of soldiers from the US Army's 82nd Airborne Division have arrived in the Middle East amid rising tensions linked to the war with Iran. Two US officials told Reuters the deployment adds to a growing American force already in the region, including Marines, Special Operations troops and naval assets.
