Afghanistan, May 4 -- UNICEF said 5.6 million children, including 1.4 million infants, received healthcare services in Afghanistan last year, highlighting the scale of humanitarian needs amid ongoing economic and social challenges.
In a report released on Monday, UNICEF said more than 20 million people benefited from primary healthcare services, with women accounting for about 60% of those reached, reflecting the critical reliance of families on humanitarian support systems.
The agency added that around 10 million children and mothers received essential nutrition services to prevent malnutrition, while four million children were supported through schools and community-based and emergency education programmes.
