Afghanistan, June 26 -- The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting drug treatment and harm reduction services in Afghanistan, saying access to healthcare and the protection of human rights remain critical as the country continues to grapple with widespread drug addiction.

Marking the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on Friday, UNDP said it continues to work with international partners to provide essential services for people who use drugs, particularly in one of the world's most fragile humanitarian settings.
