Afghanistan, May 27 -- UN Women has called for Afghan women and girls to live in an environment free from violence, discrimination, and restrictions, stressing that they must enjoy their full human and legal rights.

In a report released Tuesday, the organization said women and girls have the right to dignity, personal security, freedom of movement, and participation in public life without fear or discrimination.

The report emphasized that legal frameworks should protect women from all forms of violence and guarantee equal access to justice and legal support.

UN Women also urged the Taliban to ensure that all laws and policies are designed and implemented in ways that safeguard the rights and freedoms of women and girls.
