Afghanistan, Aug. 11 -- United Nations Special Rapporteur Richard Bennett has called for an immediate and impartial investigation into reported killings in Kabul, saying any use of lethal force must comply with international human rights law.

Bennett said on Monday, August 10, that four people were killed in Kabul's eighth security district that day, while seven others had reportedly been killed in the same area several days earlier.

He called for an independent investigation and stressed that the use of lethal force must meet international standards, including the principles of necessity and proportionality.
