Afghanistan, July 2 -- Nearly half of Afghanistan's population is expected to live in urban areas by 2060, but many cities are unprepared for such rapid growth, the United Nations Human Settlements Programme said on Thursday.
In a post on X, UN-Habitat said current projections indicate that one in every two people in Afghanistan will be living in cities by 2060. The agency warned that urban areas across the country face significant challenges in accommodating continued population growth.
