Afghanistan, May 18 -- Ukraine launched nearly 600 drones against multiple regions in Russia overnight, killing at least four people and injuring 12, Russian authorities said Monday.

Russia's Defense Ministry said 586 Ukrainian drones targeted 14 Russian regions, including areas near Crimea and the Black and Azov seas, in one of the largest drone operations since the war began.

Russian officials said air defense systems intercepted 556 drones during the initial wave and later destroyed 30 more drones, including over 80 near Moscow.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the attacks and said Ukrainian drones penetrated more than 500 kilometers into Russian territory, targeting oil infrastructure and military-linked industrial facilities.
