Afghanistan, July 22 -- The UK's new prime minister has pledged to improve living standards by reducing the cost of living and delivering greater economic stability, as the new government begins work on its policy agenda.
The prime minister, who took office on Monday, is now working to complete the Cabinet and appoint senior government officials.
As the UK's seventh prime minister in the past decade, the new leader faces high public expectations and pressure to deliver on promises to improve household finances and strengthen the economy.
