Afghanistan, July 9 -- At least three people were killed and several others injured in a reported U.S. strike near the southwestern Iranian city of Ahvaz on Thursday, while separate media reports said U.S. forces also targeted the strategic port city of Chabahar, marking what would be the first reported attack there since the collapse of the U.S.-Iran ceasefire.

Al Jazeera reported that the strike near Ahvaz, in Iran's Khuzestan Province, took place early Thursday. The broadcaster said three people were killed and several others were wounded but did not identify the victims or specify the intended target of the attack.
