Afghanistan, July 12 -- The U.S. military said it struck about 140 military targets across Iran, marking a third consecutive wave of attacks that it said has now targeted more than 300 Iranian military sites over three days, as tensions between Washington and Tehran continue to escalate.

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a statement posted on X on Sunday, July 12, that the latest operation targeted missile and drone facilities, naval assets, ammunition storage sites, communications networks and coastal surveillance positions.

According to CENTCOM, the strikes formed part of an ongoing campaign to reduce Iran's military capabilities following a series of confrontations between the two countries in recent days.
