Afghanistan, June 24 -- Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has criticized the U.S. approach toward Iran, saying Washington is being "very naive" if it believes Tehran will abandon its nuclear program as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts.
Speaking to Israel's Channel 7 on Tuesday, Ben-Gvir argued that Iran has no intention of retreating from its nuclear ambitions and continues to pose what he described as a strategic threat to Israel. He said responsibility for confronting that threat ultimately rests with Israel.
The minister added that Israel should not allow its security decisions to be dictated by allies, including close partners, and stressed that the country must retain the ability to act independently if necessary....
