Afghanistan, June 13 -- A senior U.S. administration official has said the United States and Iran could sign a deal within the next few days, although Washington is not fully certain the agreement will ultimately be finalized.
According to a report by CNBC, the official said there is now an 80-85 percent chance that the proposed agreement will be signed, up from an earlier estimate of about 75 percent. The official cautioned, however, that political divisions within Iran could still complicate the process.
The proposed memorandum of understanding would reportedly include steps to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, curb Iran's nuclear activities and establish an inspection mechanism. In return, Iran could receive significant economic relief, inc...
