Afghanistan, June 30 -- Women and children are bearing the heaviest burden of Afghanistan's worsening water crisis, spending hours each day collecting water for their families, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said on Tuesday.
In a statement posted on X, OCHA said women and children in the village of Baghlak Sofla in Bamyan Province gather around the community's only functioning well, often waiting for long periods to secure enough water for household use.
