Afghanistan, June 6 -- At least 1.4 million people across Lebanon have been directly affected by Israeli attacks and now require urgent humanitarian assistance, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said on Friday.

In a statement, OCHA said humanitarian partners were able to deliver assistance to more than 680,000 people between March 2 and May 31, providing food, shelter, healthcare and other essential services to communities impacted by the conflict.

However, the agency warned that humanitarian needs continue to outpace available resources and appealed for an additional $331.5 million to expand aid operations and reach 1.4 million vulnerable people through August.
