Afghanistan, Aug. 17 -- U.S. President Donald Trump has welcomed the signing of a joint defence agreement between Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan, describing it as a "big, bold and important" step toward closer cooperation among countries in the Middle East and greater regional capacity for self-defence.
In a post on Truth Social on Monday, Trump congratulated the leaders of the three countries and said the agreement demonstrated how Middle Eastern states were moving closer together and strengthening their ability to defend themselves.
"I am very happy to see Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan. They have finally signed the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement," Trump said.
