Afghanistan, April 13 -- Donald Trump warned that China would face "big problems" if it moves forward with supplying weapons to Iran, amid heightened tensions following a fragile ceasefire.

Trump's remarks came in response to reports that Beijing could deliver air defence systems to Iran, possibly through third countries, even as peace talks were underway in Islamabad.

According to CNN, citing U.S. intelligence, China may send military equipment to Iran in the coming weeks, while Tehran is using the pause in fighting to strengthen its air defence capabilities.

"If China does that, China is going to have big problems," Trump said, without specifying what actions Washington might take in response to such a move.
