Afghanistan, May 19 -- Axios reported that U.S. President Donald Trump delayed a planned military strike on Iran that was reportedly scheduled for Tuesday after appeals from Gulf Arab leaders.

According to the report, Trump has extended deadlines and postponed planned attacks against Iran at least six times since the start of the crisis.

Two U.S. officials told Axios that Trump was expected to convene his senior national security team in the White House Situation Room on Tuesday to discuss military options related to Iran.

Trump wrote on Truth Social that the Emir of Qatar, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia and the President of the United Arab Emirates had asked him to delay the planned strike to allow ongoing negotiations to continue.
