Afghanistan, May 29 -- At least three people were killed and four others injured after a powerful explosion followed by a fire ripped through a residential building in Dallas, according to local authorities.

Emergency crews recovered the bodies of two women and one child from the debris after hours of rescue operations, while the injured were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Preliminary investigations indicate that a gas leak may have caused the explosion before flames rapidly spread through the building. Fire officials said search-and-rescue teams remained at the site even after the fire was brought under control to ensure no one else was trapped beneath the rubble.
