Afghanistan, March 9 -- Kurdish leaders in northeastern Syria have warned Iranian Kurdish groups not to cooperate with the United States against the government in Tehran, citing their own experience in Syria.

According to a report by Reuters published Sunday, Syrian Kurdish forces previously worked closely with the United States in the fight against ISIS and helped establish autonomous areas in northern Syria.

However, after Syrian government forces advanced toward Kurdish-controlled regions, Washington encouraged Kurdish fighters to integrate with Syrian state forces, leaving many Kurdish leaders feeling abandoned.
