Afghanistan, June 25 -- Switzerland has contributed $1.95 million to the United Nations humanitarian fund for Afghanistan, as aid agencies warn that worsening economic hardship, rising humanitarian needs and funding shortages are leaving millions of Afghans at risk.

The U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said the contribution will support people whose lives have been disrupted by crises and sudden shocks, helping provide emergency assistance to vulnerable communities across the country.
