Afghanistan, June 19 -- Planned talks between the United States and Iran in Switzerland have been postponed, days after both sides signed a preliminary agreement aimed at ending hostilities and advancing broader negotiations.

Switzerland's Foreign Ministry announced on Friday that planned talks involving the United States, Iran, Qatar and Pakistan have been postponed, delaying the next phase of negotiations following the recently signed U.S.-Iran agreement.

In a statement, the ministry said discussions scheduled to take place at Burgenstock would not proceed as planned. Swiss authorities added that the meeting had been postponed and reiterated their readiness to continue facilitating dialogue between the parties.
