Afghanistan, Sept. 15 -- Commercial shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz continued to decline after renewed fighting in the Middle East, with ship-tracking data showing cargo vessel transits dropping to just four in the latest 24-hour period, according to maritime analytics firm Kpler. The slowdown highlights growing disruption to one of the world's most important oil transit routes.
According to Kpler data cited by Al Jazeera, only four commodity vessels passed through the strait on Monday, down from 10 vessels the previous day and far below normal peacetime traffic through the strategic waterway.
