Afghanistan, April 25 -- Heavy security measures have been imposed across Islamabad as a second round of indirect talks between the United States and Iran begins under Pakistani mediation.

The US delegation, led by Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, is expected to arrive in Islamabad on Saturday, according to diplomatic sources.

The Iranian delegation, headed by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, arrived in the Pakistani capital late Friday, with discussions set to proceed through indirect channels.

Iran is expected to first submit its peace proposal to Pakistani mediators, who will then relay it to the US side, with direct talks possible only if substantial progress is made.
