Afghanistan, June 20 -- At least seven people were killed and three others injured in two back-to-back explosions in Pakistan's northwestern district of Bannu in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, according to Pakistani media reports.
Pakistan's Dawn newspaper reported on Saturday that five people were killed in the first explosion and two others died in a second blast shortly afterward. Police said two vehicles were targeted in the Fang Musakhel area using remotely controlled explosive devices.
Authorities have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation amid concerns that additional explosive materials may be present. Officials have not yet confirmed whether the victims were civilians or security personnel.
